The IEPS panel is constructed to supply 220V emergency power to a traffic light system at a single crossing.
It is designed to supply emergency power in case of load shedding or other power outages from the local authority.
The box consists of a hybrid inverter with some hi-tec batteries wired in a safe manner for use in public.
Depending on the number of traffic lights and whether they are LED or incandescent, the box will supply an output for at least 4-6 hours.
It is recommended that the box be installed as close as possible to the traffic light controller for affordable installation and easy maintenance.
The switchover from local authority power to the inverter box will happen in milliseconds, so motorists will not even notice the change.
There are no solar panels involved in this application, but they can be installed if needed. The batteries charge with power from the grid through the inverter and can reach full capacity within 2-3 hours.
